Project Update
[updated!] The contractor is completing work on traffic medians throughout the work site, with the work anticipated to be done by the end of next week. When traveling in or near the construction areas, be cautious and aware of work crews, flaggers, traffic control, rough roadways, special signage, and heavy equipment. Please be prepared for temporary traffic control measures throughout the work area. The contractor is completing work on the water and sewer covers, and valves throughout the project site. Next week the will be back on-site to flush the lines and ensure there is no leftover debris inside.
Starting next week the contractor is expected to begin installing irrigation lines, with planting expected to begin the week of November 11. Once started started, landscaping along the project is expected to last for 3-4 weeks.
Starting next week the crews will begin marking out the placement of the permanent striping throughout the project site. Once the layout is approved by the City the final striping will be applied by the contractor.
It’s currently anticipated that the project will be completed by December, 2024. Note – all schedules are subject to change due to weather or unforeseen circumstances. The completion of work is also largely dependent on the contractor’s schedule and when city inspectors are able to sign-off on the work. City staff are currently inspecting the contractor’s recent work to ensure it meets the contract specifications. Any roadway panels that do not comply with the contract will be replaced at the contractor’s expense.
Construction Underway and Upcoming
In addition to the ongoing replacement of roadway panels, the installation of landscape irrigation controllers and landscape plantings will begin shortly. The installation of median curbs is currently underway. While there may be some traffic control/lane closure, these two items are not expected to significantly impact use of the roadway.
