Project Update
[updated!] The current projected end date for the pavement repair work is September 2024. Note – the end date is largely dependent on the contractor’s schedule and whether city inspectors can sign off on the work.City staff are currently inspecting the contractor’s recent work to ensure it meets the contract specifications. Any panels that do not comply with the contract will be replaced at the contractor’s expense.
When traveling in and near the construction areas, be cautious and aware of work crews, flaggers, traffic control, rough roadways, special signage, and heavy equipment. Please be prepared for temporary traffic control measures throughout the work area.
Construction Underway and Upcoming
[updated!] The final work that will get underway after pavement replacement is complete includes:- Asphalt paving of the intersection of Piner Road and Guerneville Road
- Landscaping in the medians and sidewalks
- Lane restriping
- Addressing various smaller “punch list” items
Most of these items will not significantly impact the public or the use of the roadway. We anticipate that these final work items will be finished and the completed roadway will be fully open to the public approximately one month after the pavement replacement is competed and has been deemed acceptable.
Reminders
- Installation of bus shelters and benches is complete, however not all of them are in use due to the temporary traffic controls that are currently in place. For general bus service information, please visit Santa Rosa CityBus.
Project Overview and Schedule
This project will widen, reconstruct, and rehabilitate one mile of Fulton Road between Guerneville Road and Piner Road, transforming it into an updated, four-lane regional/arterial street, as well as provide many other improvements. The project started in June 2022 and is expected to last for approximately 24 months (all schedules are subject to change depending on weather, unanticipated circumstances, and seasonal access restrictions to creek areas).
Work hours: 7 A.M. to 7 P.M. Monday thru Friday. With City approval, periodic work on nights (8:30 P.M. to 5:00 A.M.) or weekends may take place.
